What’s been happening:

After graduation, I spent an enjoyable and dynamic 15 years in Columbus, Ohio, at North American Aviation helping design new aircraft, performing flight simulation for NASA on Gemini-Agena docking, and the Lunar Lander moon landing, while expanding our family with four additions. Wife Diana helped with this last bit. We then moved to the Nations Capital, an initially daunting, but ultimately satisfying experience that we continue to enjoy today. While I served in several government positions with the Naval Air Systems Command, the Naval Air Research Center, the Office of Naval Research, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Headquarters, with all sorts of interesting and challenging assignments, the very big "payoff" for me was a network of bike trails that ran essentially from our home to wherever I was working. In general, I enjoyed my assignments, but really enjoyed my commutes, mostly along the Potomac River, followed by a brief excursion often on surprisingly rural-like trails to the work place de jour. Absolutely a grand experience. I've authored several technical papers on aircraft dynamics, flight controls, and flight simulation research, have two patents on improving aircraft flight safety, and am currently retired.
